The Movement work can be understood as the work of organizing and balancing the neuromuscular system. Our focus is how the responsiveness in muscle and tissues interact to create aspects of yourself, such as centering, grounding and boundaries.

Our physical structure shifts and changes every day. Rolfing Movement helps in achieving self-awareness. For example, in a session we will use the personās breathing, body weight and density in combination with the practitionerās hands (non invasive/ guidance). These sessions are exploratory and will leave one feeling invigorated with a better sense of the body use, a break in the sensory blindness due to habituation.

Improving perception and coordination is also our goal. Tight muscles are not the cause of a problem, rather they are a consequence of the ongoing functioning of the nervous system. The underlying problem is one of perception. The person with back pain cannot accurately perceive his or her own movement, and without reliable guidance, simply can not govern that movement.

The practice of Rolfing Movement facilitates the breaking of the vicious circle of irrational movement patterns (body habits). Our habitual patterns keep us from experiencing the full richness of life. This work can help us to access our capacity to move more freely, feel more deeply, and realize broader possibilities for living our lives.

Body movement reflects our developmental history which is rooted in our interactions with the environment and culture. Psychological changes may occur. We do not ignore it and, yet we do not keep going off into emotional history and areas which our training as Rolfers does not address.

We will explore ways of walking, sitting, standing, running, working out Šthe impressions and expressions of our daily routines and kinetic activity.

Rolfing Movement Integration can be done before, after, or in combination with the structural Rolfing work. This movement approach is a great benefit to athletes, musicians, actors, singers, dancers, yoga practitioners, desk workers (computers), clerks, cooks, waiters, models, artists, or anyone who wants to improve the quality of their physical performance.
