Louis Schultz has been a teacher for over 50 years. His history is teaching Biology, Embryology, Endocrinology, Physiology, and Anatomy. After becoming a Rolfer in the early 1970s, he was strongly encouraged to become a teacher of Anatomy in the Rolf Institute. Under the guidance of Dr. Ida Rolf, he gained an understanding of the effect of the fascial network of the body on many aspects of a person’s living.

In 1995 he had a young Brazilian client, Marcelo Coutinho, who was a professional dancer and a competitive swimmer with a educational degree in Physical Education. They mutually decided to undertake the project of Louis to train Marcelo as a practitioner of Structural Integration. When this was completed, he he decided to train as a Rolfer. He attended an introductory program by the Institute in Washington DC, did his first training in Rolfing and Rolfing Movement in Brazil, and completed his training in Munich in 1998. Two years later he finished the Movement Certification in Switzerland and Germany. In 2003 he completed his advanced training.

While Marcelo was in training, Louis was required to have emergency surgery on his neck because the cervical bone was pressing directly on his spinal cord (related to a spinal birth defect). The ultimate result was Louis was partially disabled and his ability to work was considerably reduced.

Under these circumstances a partnership was formed - Village Rolfing. The partnership is based on friendship, trust, mutual respect, and familial love.
